 Hello, and welcome to "Real Estate Straight Talk" Newsletter!I'm Steven W. Hammons, fellow real estate investor and publisher of "Real Estate Straight Talk" Newsletter. My business partner and I have over 59 years of combined real estate, investing, property management and corporate business experience. Our company is National Real Estate Buyers & Associates, Inc., based in Dayton, Ohio. I started in real estate investing back in 1982 as a limited partner in a multi-storage facility in Flint, Michigan -- not a big start... but it was a start! Since then, I have invested in both residential and commercial real estate using a variety of creative strategies, including seller financing, wholesaling, holding property for rentals, lease options, and "subject to" techniques, just to name a few. I founded "Real Estate Straight Talk" in 2004 as a way conveying to both new and experienced investors my knowledge of the industry, as well as the mistakes I made getting there. I have seen many changes in the real estate investing marketplace since 1982, but certainly not as many as over the past four years. Due to the many changes and complexities that are now part of real estate investing, I decided it was time to update our newsletter's offering to help today's investor meet the many challenges now being faced due to recent legislative actions at both the federal and state levels.
